Somatics
|
Somatics is a transformative path that allows us to recognize both what we have embodied and what we long to embody. Along the path of somatic practice, we are enabled to feel – and therefore change – the embodied patterns that no longer serve us. We can then choose to move and live more freely and with more possibility, for ourselves and with others.
Our responses to trauma and systemic oppression can take root in our bodies, individually and collectively, as deep contractions that time does not necessarily heal. These survival responses begin as wonderfully intelligent armouring strategies. However, as these contractions gradually become our default practice, they can become rigid and intrusive, ultimately limiting our access to empowerment and joy.
In somatic healing, we take on the challenging and beautiful work of safely de-armouring the embodied practices that no longer serve us and moving toward what we desire.
