Osteopathy
Osteopathy is a gentle, non-invasive manual therapy that treats the body as a whole. Its responsive and highly attuned techniques elicit the body's innate capacity to heal by restoring mobility and vitality to its systems – vascular, musculoskeletal, nervous, visceral. No matter what the concern (e.g., chronic pain, digestive issues, sleep dysfunction, anxiety, depression), osteopathy seeks to treat the underlying causes by locating that concern within the balance of the whole body. Especially effective at re-balancing the autonomic nervous system, which is responsible for the fight/flight/freeze response, osteopathy is an important element of any successful and lasting trauma therapy. Danielle’s osteopathic training was through the Collège d'Études Ostéopathiques. Her thesis on trauma-informed practice in osteopathy won the award for best qualitative thesis in May 2019. |
